Easy is a relative term 🤪 But for real so much of Easy is a relative term 🤪

But for real so much of life is how you choose to look at it. How you CHOOSE being the key. Take road tripping with three kids 4 and under for example. I could choose to lose my mind every time they say my name, ask for another snack, ask if we’re there yet, or complain that “this is taking too long.” Instead I choose to acknowledge how they feel, and redirect to a new game, a new song, a story, or something else. It sounds something like this…

Toddler: “mom this is taking too loooonnnggg.”

Me: “I know it! This is a long drive. What have we seen on our drive so far?” Or “you’re right! This is taking a long time. What’s been your favorite part so far? Should we play I spy?” Or “yes it is taking a long time! How about a snack?”

Just like me, my kids need to have their feelings acknowledged rather than reprimanded. Not always easy, but always worth it.

Did you know that God wants to do this for us too? Our emotions are signals that point us to Him. We can tell Him that this thing we’re praying for is taking too long. Or that we feel sad today. Or scared. Or frustrated. More often than not He responds with something like: “I know it. Waiting is hard. I’m with you and for you.” Or “how about we look at this differently?” Or “have you noticed the things I’m doing for you today?”

The journey is never wasted and we have a God who wants to acknowledge our feelings and redirect us to what He sees. Do you know how to let Him?

Lolol but for real you gotta start by hearing His Lolol but for real you gotta start by hearing His words.

Does that sound weird? Let me explain…

My name is Hala and I’m a life and faith coach. One of the skills I support people with is how to practice listening prayer- hearing from God.

I get a lot of requests from people wanting to know how to hear the voice of God. They wonder how I hear from Him so regularly and want to be able to do the same.

Here’s my biggest tip for you: if you want to know what God sounds like, you need to be regularly reading the word. Why? Because it is THE WORD of God. HIS words. In order to know what he “sounds” like and to build your awareness of his communication with you, you have to be disciplined in “hearing” from him regularly.

Just like any other spiritual discipline, it takes obedience and consistency. The more you do it, the greater your awareness of what God sounds like will be.

The more you recognize his words, the easier it will be to notice how he’s speaking to you through scripture, songs, images, feelings, other people, dreams, nature etc. You’ll recognize his voice because you’ve been hearing it daily.
